Follow the action from day eight of London 2012

The world's fastest runners, swimmers and rowers all feature on a jam-packed day eight of the London Olympics.

8.58pm AEST - Double sculls team finishes fifth

AUSTRALIA'S women's double sculls team finishes fifth in their final at the rowing.
The team of Bronwen Watson and Hannah Every-Hall trailed home as Great Britain claimed gold yet again.
China claimed the silver medal, while Greece won bronze.

8.50pm AEST - Lacaze finishes ninth in heat

AUSTRALIA'S Genevieve Lacaze has finished ninth in her heat of the 3000m steeplechase at the London Olympics.
Lacaze, who was embroiled in selection controversy when Athletics Australia refused to select her when she ran the qualifying time 48 hours after the cut-off date, clocked a personal best time of 9min41.15secs.

8.35pm AEST - Fours settle for silver

AUSTRALIA'S men's fours were forced to settle for a silver medal behind Great Britain at the rowing.
Prior to the Games, it always looked like being a race between the two nations in this event and they traded barbs before the Olympic began.
Great Britain led from start to finish but it was close throughout.
The Australian fours team of Williams Lockwood, Drew Ginn, James Chapman and Josh Dunkley-Smith picked up the pace over the last 300m but weren't able to bridge the gap.
