THERE was a time when Erin Densham's heart didn't work properly and she feared for her life.
In the Olympic women’s triathlon event today, her heart didn’t just
work but proved so big it willed her to an emotional bronze medal.
Densham
could tailed off in a sprint to the finish with Switzerland’s Nicola
Spirig claiming gold just ahead of Sweden’s Lisa Norden.
Densham’s
teammate Emma Jackson finished eighth while Emma Moffatt, a bronze
medallist in Beijing, did not complete the race after crashing early
into the bike leg in front of Buckingham Palace.
Her fall occurred on a tricky corner where several other competitors came down in the slippery conditions.
Race favourite Helen Jenkins from Great Britain finished fifth.
