Kano Pillars players get N74m allowances


Kano - The Kano State Government on Wednesday approved N73.8 million for the payment of outstanding allowances to players of Kano Pillars FC.

The state's Commissioner for Information, Youth and Sports, Umar Faruk, made the disclosure while briefing newsmen on the outcome of the weekly meeting of the State's Executive Council (SEC) in Kano.

”In line with its stated policies, geared toward  human and infrastructure development and in continuation of the effort towards fulfilling this commitment, SEC has approved N73.8 million to Kano Pillars Football Club,” he said.

Faruk explained that part of the money would be used for the settlement of coaches’ outstanding allowances, purchase of essential facilities as well as rehabilitation of the Pillars Stadium at Sabon-Gari.

According to him, the council has also approved the release of five million naira for the evacuation of lunatics roaming the streets in the 44 Local Government Areas of the state.

He said that the council had also approved N5. 5 million for the purchase and distribution of anti-suckling drugs and other items for sickle cell patients in the state.
