Wigan manager Roberto Martinez believes that Victor Moses is irreplaceable, following the attacker’s switch to Chelsea.
Moses completed a move to Stamford
Bridge last week and Martinez has revealed that he remains open to
adding to his squad before the end of the transfer window in light of
the departure.
The Spanish boss does not expect to be
able to replace the Nigeria international with another individual,
however, and says he will simply remain on the lookout for opportunities
that might arise.
“You probably have to replace him with
another way of playing in that attacking third or find another way to
get the players to fulfill his responsibilities. As a whole I’m really
pleased with the players we’ve got but I wouldn’t be doing my job
properly if I didn’t keep my eyes open because sometimes in the last 48
hours you get opportunities you can’t turn down.”
Martinez added, however, that he had completed the bulk of his transfer business earlier in the summer.
