Kebbi PDP elects candidates for council elections

Kebbi - The PDP in Kebbi has conducted primaries to elect candidates for the local government election in the state scheduled for Sept. 15.

The Chairman of the party in Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area, Tijjani Zauro, disclosed this in Birnin Kebbi on Thursday.

Zauro said that former chairman of the council, Musa Dan-Illellah, got 350 votes to beat his opponent, Dahiru Nayaya. 

He said Nayaya, who did not officially withdraw from the primaries, was absent during the election. 

Zauro commended delegates from the 15 wards for conducting a free and fair election within the ambits of the law and the PDP rules. 

Abubakar idris got 208 votes out of the 226 votes in Kalgo Local Government Area and was elected unopposed. 

In Argungu Local Government Area, the former chairman, Salihu Ahmed, emerged winner following the disqualification of his opponent, Musa Baraya.
